In this talk, we will discuss depth two multiple zeta values in positive characteristic (called double zeta values). We will present an effective criterion for computing the dimension of the space of double zeta values for a fixed weight. As a consequence, one can explain that the naive analogue of the Zagier\'s conjecture for double zeta values is not valid in the positive characteristic setting.
