We will give the definition of the Hitchin moduli space (i.e. moduli space of solutions to Hitchin\'s equations) over a Riemann surface and explain the other two descriptions of the moduli space : the de Rham moduli space and the Betti moduli space. We will also give an account of the varies geometry of such moduli space.
