This is a joint work, still in progress, with Ahmed Abbes. One goal is to describe continuous p-adic representations of the geometric fundamental group of the generic fiber of a proper smooth scheme defi ned over the ring of integer of a complete discrete valuation field of unequal characteristic in terms of Higgs bundles. In this series of talks, we will leisurely introduce the problem and give some elements of the construction and some results.
