In 1976, Lang and Trotter proposed an elliptic curve analogue of Artin's primitive root conjecture. In this talk, we will focus on the case of elliptic curves with complex multiplication (CM). We will briefly mention the known results by Gupta and Murty in 1980's and then discuss a recent result about the primitive points on the supersingular reduction. This is a joint work with Yen-Liang Kuan and Jing Yu.
