In this talk, we will give an overview of the basic knowledge of automorphic forms and L-functions on higher rank groups. It includes the Fourier expansion of automorphic form, the Jacuet-Whittaker model, multiplicity one, Hecke operators, Godement-Jacquet L-functions and so on. We will also talk about an important tool in studying the L-functions, the Voronoi formulas on higher rank groups due to Miller and Schmid.
