I will discuss the physics of various geophysical fluid phenomena - ocean gyres & river plumes, typhoons & icebands, topographic Rossby & internal, near-inertial waves, and coupling of the trade wind & coastal jet - illustrate them with examples and in each case point out their mathematical connection.
