Life span of positive solutions for a semilinear heat equation with non-decaying initial data

We show an upper bound of the life span of positive solutions of a semilinear heat equation for initial data having positive inferior limit at infinity. The upper bound is expressed by the inferior limit at space infinity of initial data. There are several papers on estimates of the life span of the solution. Using Kaplan's method, we simplify the proofs of the estimate.
