Given any transverse pair of Lagrangian planes satisfying a certain angle condition, D. Joyce, Y.-I. Lee and M.-P. Tsui constructed a smooth Lagrangian self-expander which is asymptotic to the planes at infinity. I will discuss current work in progress which aims to show that in dimension 2, where the self-expander is a surface, the asymptotic planes at infinity define the self-expander uniquely. This work is joint with A. Neves.
