We present existence results for a semilinear elliptic equation in the self-dual Chern-Simons O(3) sigma model. Existence and uniqueness results for radial solutions on $\mathbb{R}^2$ will be presented. We also discuss existence of non-radial solutions satisfying two different boundary conditions near infinity.
