Planar Euler flows are described by semilinear elliptic equations with Dirichlet or Neumann boundary condition. The choice of the nonlinearity is a physical ansatz which depends on the special vortex structure one is interested in. The nonlinearities considered so far in literature are all of exponential type with possibly singular sources. I will briefly review known results and will present a new result about singular mean-field equations on simply-connected domains.
