This is a joint work with Jan. Bruinier. The arithmetic Siegel-Wei formula is a more delicate arithmetic analogue of the classical Siegel-Weil formula, formulated by Kudla. It is an important part of the so-called Kulda program. It was worked out in low dimensional cases by Kudla, Rapoport, Howard, and myself among others. In high dimesional case, very little is known. In this talk, we desribe a new method on how to attack general cases via `introduction\'.
