In this talk we discuss the torsion flow as defined by Shu- Cheng Chang, a geometric flow for a pseudohermitian 3- manifold. A pseudohermitian structure on a 3-manifold consists of a contact structure together with a compatible complex structure. The idea behind the torsion flow is that it should `improve' the contact form and complex structure. We discuss the necessary ingredients to define this flow, and explain why such a flow could be useful. Finally we give some explicit examples of the torsion flow on homogeneous contact manifolds.
