The approach of analytic continuation to the modularity of weight one modular forms was initiated by Buzzard and Taylor in 1999. Their results have interesting applications to the Artin conjecture for 2-dimensional representations of the absolute Galois groiup of Q. In this talk, I will explain some partial results in this direction on the generalization of Buzzard-Taylor's approach to weight one Hilbert modular forms of unramified Iwahori level for a totally real field. This is a joint work with Payman Kassaei and Shu Sasaki.
