The n-th replica of the one-dimensional KPZ equation is related to the semigroup of the n particle attractive delta Bose gas on the line. Viewed stochastically one arrives at n rank-dependent diffusions with a particular drift vector. Such connections will be explained. I also review the initial conditions which can be handled by the replica method.
